Alex Rankin

Alex joined the Hilltop team in 2025 with over five years of experience in financial advising. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Tulane University and a Master of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science at UNC-Chapel Hill. After some time working in college athletics administration, he knew he wanted to pivot to financial advising, where he could make a positive difference in people’s lives and build longer-term relationships. 

As a financial advisor at Hilltop, Alex enjoys helping individuals build plans that are smart and accessible, fully customized and measurable.

Alex lives in Raleigh with his wife, Cameron, and their two daughters, Isla and Everette. When not in the office, he loves to play golf, run and hike, and he is a year-round sports fan. He is also active in the community, volunteering with the Ronald McDonald Houses of Durham and Chapel Hill, as well as Meals on Wheels.
