Rusty began his financial advising career in 2003 when he was recruited to work with founding advisor Don Rutledge. Curious and observant about human nature, Rusty loves using financial planning to help people make well-informed decisions and work toward their goals. He holds a BS in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill.
He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), and a Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL®). Rusty leads the investment committee, organizing the research process and scouting investment trends.
Rusty lives in Chapel Hill with his wife, Kathryn, and children, Gillian, Alex, Harper, and Jack. Rusty has served as Treasurer of Christ Community Church and provided pro bono financial advice through Homes For Our Troops. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities, playing basketball, and reading, and he is savoring his way through the NC Barbecue Society's Historic Barbecue Trail.
